What OEM/ODM means for loofah

OEM/ODM is for anything that changes the product itself: a new size or shape, a different backing or strap, a new handle, a different fibre density, or a bundle that does not exist yet. The product is developed from your brief or drawing, sampled, approved and then quoted. Changing only the packaging is private label, not OEM/ODM.

Good OEM/ODM projects

  • A new size of an existing format (for example a longer back belt).
  • A different strap, binding or cord material.
  • A new shape cut from loofah fibre.
  • A multi-item bundle with a custom box.

Better handled another way

  • You only need your logo on our standard product — use private label.
  • The brief depends on a certification we cannot provide for your market.
  • The shape needs a mould or process that does not suit natural fibre.

Development steps

  1. Brief
Action: Send the use, target size, components, pack and destination; a drawing or reference item helps.
Result: A feasibility answer and what the sample will cost.
  2. Prototype
Action: We make the prototype and send photos, then the physical sample.
Result: Something to hold, measure and test.
  3. Revise
Action: Adjust size, density or components if needed.
    Result: An approved golden sample.
  4. Quote and order
Action: Price, MOQ and lead time are quoted on the approved sample.
Result: An order specification tied to a physical reference.

Prototype timing and cost are quoted separately from standard samples.

Order terms

Order detailPlanning information
MOQ100 pcs per SKU. Mixed-SKU first orders are possible; the minimum applies to each SKU in the order.
Private labelLabels, hang tags, kraft sleeves, printed boxes, bundle sets and barcodes are available. The minimum for printed packaging depends on the pack format and print method and is confirmed in the quote, together with a mockup for approval before production.
Samples3 free samples per request. The buyer covers the courier cost. We confirm the selection and the courier cost before dispatch. Custom prototypes are quoted separately on timing and cost.
Production lead timeProduction lead time depends on the SKU mix, the quantity and whether the order carries your own packaging. It is confirmed in the quotation, after sample, artwork and order approval. Production time is not an arrival date: sea transit, customs clearance and inland delivery come on top.
Payment30% deposit on a stock-packaging order, 50% when the order carries your own label or printed box, balance against shipping documents. Air shipments are settled in full before the goods are handed over at the airport.
IncotermsEXW, FCA, FOB, CIF, DAP and DDP are quoted; always name the place with the term. FCA is the correct term for an air shipment — FOB is not. DDP suits a first-time importer who would rather not handle customs, though import VAT is usually not recoverable that way; DAP suits a VAT-registered buyer.
Export documentsCommercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading or Air Waybill, Certificate of Origin (the form depends on the destination — EUR.1 for the EU under the EVFTA, Form B as standard), and a Phytosanitary Certificate and Fumigation Certificate where the destination requires them. Batch moisture readings are available on request. Laboratory testing is arranged separately on request.
ShippingConfirm destination, Incoterm with named place, transport mode and the shipment-specific document list. Freight is not included unless stated in the quotation.

Review our factories and production steps, the quality checks we run on every batch and the export documents and testing scope before approving your order.

Buyer questions

What is the MOQ for a custom product?

It is quoted on the approved sample. Our standard MOQ is 100 pcs per SKU; a new construction may need more depending on materials.

Who owns the design?

Agree it in writing with the order. If the design is yours, say so in the brief and we record it in the quotation.
